History of Priceville
Located south of the Tennessee River in the northern section of the soon-to-be state of Alabama, what would become Priceville saw its earliest settlers migrate to the area immediately after the War of 1812. In 1825 the Price family sold a plantation and moved to north central Morgan County, establishing a prominent presence that would lead to the community’s name.
Over a century later, the small settlement would grow significantly after the construction of Interstate 65. By the time of its municipal incorporation in 1975, the City of Priceville was home to around 350 people. Currently, the population stands at nearly 3,800 permanent residents and growing.
